There are dozens of small lakes located in the northeast South Dakota Glacial Lakes Region. Most of these small lakes have undeveloped shores surrounded by scenic native forest and/or native tallgrass prairie. The Prairie Coteau Watershed Project has developed a list of several lakes that can be easily accessed by paddlers. Most of these lakes lack access for larger recreational watercraft and offer the paddler a quiet safe environment to enjoy. Maps showing the location of these lakes, directions, access points, and suggested routes are listed to the right.
